![]() So, while I look forward to its release, I look forward even more to the possibility of that Oblivion remaster.Capture ideas when inspiration strikes. Based on my experience with the game so far, I fear it's much too difficult, and much too inaccessible. I'll doubtless buy Baldur's Gate 3 for Xbox Series X, but to be honest, I'm not sure it's a game I'll ever be able to complete. It would be worth the investment since it's a game I would play for years to come. I would buy such a remaster even if it appeared on Gamepass. But I hope that it does materialize, and that it provides enough enhancements to make it worthwhile. ![]() There are many definitions of remaster, and sometimes they are just money grabs that don't offer much in the way of improvements. The rumored remaster of Oblivion may never materialize, or it may disappoint. I want a game that lets me learn what I need directly from the game itself, and I don't think Baldur's Gate offers that. I don't want to have to check the Internet to figure out how to play a game, or to master something like the Dungeons and Dragons ruleset so I can roll the best build for a playthrough. I know this doesn't appeal to everyone, but for me, it's important. What I mean is Oblivion goes out of its way to make itself understandable and approachable. I've played it for close to 60 hours on PC, but it just doesn't have the same kind of accessibility that Oblivion has. ![]() I would rather play it than Baldur's Gate 3. I've replayed Oblivion a number of times on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, but I would love to see a good remaster that breathed new life into the RPG. Oblivion was accessible enough that when it released, I understood and enjoyed it, and I subsequently invested hundreds of hours into the game over a number of years. I played Morrowind on PC and Xbox before I ever played Oblivion, but I didn't GET Morrowind at the time. ![]()
